Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces says Iran will respond in kind to any action by the US government to assassinate top commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

According to Press TV, reacting to recent remarks by US officials who urged the government to kill top IRGC commanders, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said, “The late father of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (May his soul rest in peace) said it best that “the more you kill us, the stronger our nation will become.”

Asked whether possible US attempts to assassinate Iran's military commanders would be retaliated, he said there will be retaliation and dared the US to try.

During a hearing of the US House of Representatives' Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, October 26, a number of hard-line American officials urged the US Administration to launch covert action against Iran or even "kill" some of Iranian authorities over an alleged Iran-backed plot to kill a Saudi diplomat in Washington.
